House Projects

I have sooooo many things I want to do with our new house! (Like, post pictures on my blog! Sorry, I know I promised. I'll get to it sometime.)

Some of these things include:
Buying a new couch and love seat set for our front room
Buying end tables/coffee table for the living room
Buying end tables/coffee table for the family room
Getting electrical work done (like updating outlets, and adding a few outlets and fixtures)
Replacing the kitchen floor
Buying a new kitchen table
Painting the kitchen
Painting the livingroom
Painting my scrapbook room
Painting the stairway

But! All of these things take time and money...two things I'm kind of short on! (Yes, I know I'm short on other things; like inches!) So, my question for you gals is, what do I do first? If this was a list of things that needed to be done to your house, what would YOUR priorities be?

I think in your situation, my first priority would be furniture so you can "live" while doing your projects...of course I may just be speaking on my own current situation:)

Are you without furniture in your house too, Reagan?

Paint! The longer you live in your house the less motivation you'll have to do it. And maybe do your electrical stuff before that if walls are going to have to be intruded upon that are in rooms that you're going to paint. Furniture is so fun to buy though...we got a lot of our stuff through craigslist.

Yeah, I was thinking the same order, Joanne...electrical, paint, then furniture. But, Micah's really hating being without living room furniture. And, I'm not sure how to make craigslist work for us. We don't really know anyone who has a truck that could help us move it, ya know? I thought about looking into what it costs to rent a small uhaul just for a couple of hours. Do you think they do that sort of thing?

Oh, you don't have any furniture at all in your living room? Then you should at least get a couch or something for sure. It is hard not having a truck when you need one! I don't know about the uhaul rental thing, I'm sure they'd work something out with you, but then you'd have to get everything lined up for the same day and that might be kind of hard. It might just be easier to check out furniture stores and have them deliever it; plus, you guys will be in your house for awhile, right? The thing with us is that we never know when we're going to move again, so craigslist is perfect. I bet you could find some good deals on a living room set somewhere. It's so nice moving from an apartment to a house, isn't it! You realize how awesome space is.
