Week 16

Look at how little I am at week 16!! And to think, when I was actually there, I was feeling kind of large!

Week 16 started on September 18th. Baby Center says that the babe is now 4.5 inches long, and 3.5 ounces. That's really hard to imagine! Isn't it amazing the things the Lord can do?

I have marked on my calendar that Monday the 21st was my worst night of sleep to date, and I'm pretty sure that still holds true. I tried sleeping everywhere, and just could not sleep! Not sure what the deal was.

On the 22nd I had a lunch date with my dear friend Ruth. We sat talking for hours about lots of things, and it was really delightful - with one exception. This was the day that I learned that it's very common for women to poop during delivery! I couldn't believe it! I'm really mortified about the idea, even though women who have had babies have reassured me several times that it really won't be a big deal. I can't get it out of my head!

And on that note, I think that's about it for week 16!

He he he, I think it's funny how repulsive some women find the idea of pooping during delivery. :) If I did it, Jason is lying to me or didn't notice, either way, I don't really care, and I doubt you will. There is bigger things going on...like realizing that you are pushing a human being out of your body! :) Now THAT is crazy!

:) Indeed, you are right. I'm sure I won't care once I'm in the thick of things...but having a bunch of time to analyze everything right now doesn't help!

It is completely crazy that there's a human being in there! I had another shower this weekend, and it just struck me afresh that people actually expect me to use the stuff they gave me to care for a PERSON. Weird.

Oh dude, I had the same fixation on pooping during delivery too! 'Cause I've heard of lots of people being like that! And it is a funny thing to worry about, I admit that too, but it's just one of those things I guess. If it happens, it happens, and you go right on pushing :). So far, it hasn't happened to me, I guess because when I start contractions, they start out somewhat slow and I have time to poop before I go into active labor.
